how to organize your lawn business

hi, i’m lorie marrero and today’s cluttervideo tip is about trash. yes, we’re talking trash today. and as a professional organizer,i hope you have a lot of it, because that means you’re going to be getting rid ofa lot of things you don’t need. one of the mistakes we see with people’s trash is intheir home offices, and they are using a little dainty bathroom trashcan like this, that whileit is very cute, it does not serve you very well in the home office situation. we havefound people are quite hesitant to throw a lot of things away if they think [pop] thatit’s going to fill up their trashcan, so you might want to have a much larger trashcanfor the home office, save this for the bathroom where you can admire it and it can be cuteand everything, but you can get that utilitarian,

functional thing to make you throw away moretrash where you need it the most. if you have even bigger trash needs, and we often do whenwe’re doing organizing projects, this is my favorite organizing product of all time, and it is a pop-up [pop] trashcan. so, before i found these, i was running around tryingto find a doorknob to hang a trashcan liner on, and then it wouldn’t stay open, andit was really annoying for everybody involved, so these are actually made for lawn and gardenwork, for raking leaves, so it holds the bag open really well, and then you could justthrow things in it from across the room and get rid of a lot of your stuff. [pop] i alwayslike to put in a couple of extra liners first in the bottom of the trashcan so that if imove the trashcan around away from the box

of liners, then i have a couple of them handyright there at the point of view so we can just refill and keep going. then i put themain liner in and ready to go. i do want to say a word about these liners: you want touse heavy duty liners whenever possible, and i have a picture here of the box that youcan see where they have the measurement of how thick the bags are, you want to do a minimumof 1.1 mill. of thickness so that you avoid breakage. what you’re going to have is theseawful messes where the bags break and you’re trying to haul these heavy things around, and it just creates a lot more work and heartache, so you don’t want that. and if you havebigger trash hauling needs, even bigger than this, even bigger than heavy duty bags, youcan call our preferred hauling partner, college

hunk’s hauling, and they will come and takelarge things like old kitchen sinks and toilets and other kinds of debris, they will takethings from your upstairs and haul them down for you. they’ll fill up their truck, they’llrecycle, reuse, repurpose as much as possible, they’ll take your donations to goodwillfor you, so it’s kind of a one-stop shop to get rid of lots of stuff when you’vedone an organizing project. and if you mention clutter diet when you call them, you can save$30. so again that’s college hunk’s hauling. and if you need extra help and advice gettingall these projects done, you know we can help you for free with our 7-day quickstart program, you can find out about this at clutterdiet.com/learnmore. see you next time, and may you always be happyand grateful for having more than enough.
